Newsletter Placeholder | CCHVA President's Message May 2026 Cheers, CCHVA Friends! As I begin my third year serving as President of CCHVA, I just want to say how grateful I am to be part of such an incredible group of passionate, generous, and talented home vintners. What makes this club special isn't just the wine we produce--it's the willingness to share knowledge, lend equipment, swap bottles, and support one another along the way. Thank you for the opportunity to continue serving this amazing community. Spring is one of the most exciting times of year for winemakers. Wines are maturing, bottling season is underway, and it's time to start thinking about showcasing your hard work. National, regional, and local wine competitions are just around the corner, and many entry deadlines are fast approaching. If you've been on the fence about entering--go for it! Competitions are one of the best ways to receive valuable feedback, improve your craft, and represent CCHVA on a bigger stage. We've also got a fantastic lineup of events coming up. Our Wine Evaluation Seminars continue on the third Wednesday of each month at Old Town Wine and Brew in Orcutt, and they remain one of the best ways to sharpen your palate and learn from fellow members. On Thursday, May 7th, Fred will be hosting a Sulfite Testing and Laboratory Skills Workshop, giving members hands-on experience with the technical side of winemaking--a great opportunity to build confidence and precision in your process. And be sure to mark your calendars for our CCHVA Spring Potluck on Saturday, May 30th at the Providence Landing Clubhouse in Vandenberg Village--always a highlight filled with great food, great wine, and even better company. As always, I encourage you to stay involved and attend events, and don't hesitate to reach out if you want to get more engaged with the club. Whether you're brand new to winemaking or have years of experience, there's always someone willing to help. Here's to a great spring season and another year of making (and sharing) outstanding wine together. Cheers, Joe Clemmer, President CCHVA |
